Two people I trust and who are very "down to earth" have told me of these following experiences.

A former boyfriend, Larry, was lying on the sofa listening to Jefferson Airplane back in the late 1960s (not on drugs) when, he said, all of a sudden he was outside of the picture window outside of the house, looking in at his body lying on the sofa. He said he was panicked and afraid, and somehow returned to his body.

My mother said when she was a very small child she used to "hop" out of her body and kind of float around the room. It was the kind of hopping that the astronauts do in near weightlessness. She could hop, and float very high and almost weightless. She said she would be out of her body, would just regularly hop in and out, traveling around the room. She doesn't remember when she stopped being able to do this, but she was a very young child.
