A year after the birth of my son in 1992 I had a very frightening experience. I had lain down for a nap before having to go to work in the evening and felt very strange. I remember my body floating up to the ceiling and upon looking down I was still in bed asleep. I drifted off toward the living room where I could see my son crawling across the floor toward the kitchen door. He was trying to pull the lever on the gas valve to the gas space heater we kept in there in the wintertime. I quickly realized we hadn't capped off the valve and if he pulled the lever gas would escape into the house. I can remember trying to reach him, but I would get so close and drift right back up as if I were weightless. I tried again and again to reach down and grab him suddenly I remember screaming noooooo! and got a hold of him. the next thing I remember is waking up in my bed scared out of my wits. On that day I capped off the gas valve and never left it uncapped again. I believe this was a warning of something about to happen. This has never happened to me since and I am very grateful!
