NDE - Serenity
From: Gerry Brillantes (gbrunz@yahoo.com) Story type: NDE Location: Lorma Hospital in Northern Phil. Source: Form Submission
I was asthmatic all my life. Every month I have to be hospitalized to recover from asthma related complications. But this time, the Attending Physician told me that I have acquired Typhoid Fever. He ordered the nurse to give me an antibiotic. The nurse didn't check if I am allergic to antibiotics. She just injected me and in a matter of seconds I lost consciousness. I didn't feel anything. Then all of a sudden I was floating inside a large tunnel with walls that seem unending. I see a very bright light at the end of the tunnel. It is far but I was moving slowly towards it. It was the most peaceful and serene feeling I ever experienced. No worries, no problems, no nothing except a feeling of calm, peace, and serenity.
Then all of a sudden, I felt dizzy and I heard voices and I opened my eyes and saw several Doctors and Nurses tryying to revive me and one of them was holding the equipment that gives off electric shock to a dying peson. Then I realized I was dead already. Then the person who was sent by my dad to watch me said, "You've been dead for 20 minutes".
The feeling that I experience, the feeling of peace and serenity, was unexplainable and I'd rather stay that way than waking up.
This story changed my vision of death.
