My sister's best friend just moved into this new house that was once the house of a little girl named April.

April was about 10 or 11 when she was found dead in the field behind her house. She had burn marks on her arms and legs where her parents would put out their cigarettes on her, and she had burn marks from when her mother would stick a hot curling iron on April's arm to punish her. When April's body was found, she had a dog bite on her arm. They sheriff said her death was because of a dog attack, but the local coroner didn't think that was it. They had an autopsy done and she was found with a bunch of medical problems. Her parents were arrested and sent to prison.

A few nights after my sister's friend moved in, my sister stayed the night. When everyone went to bed, my sister and her friend went into the kitchen to get a drink. They were sitting at the table talking when the phone rang. They screamed and Toni (my sisters friend) went and answered it. On the other end was a little girl looking for her mother. Toni asked what her name was and who her mother was. The little said her name was April and her mother's name was Debra. Toni said that she didn't live there anymore, that her mother was in prison. When the little girl hung up, Toni noticed that the phone was not plugged in and they hadn't got around to getting it turned on either.

About an hour later, the phone rang again. Once again, it was the little girl looking for her mother. Toni told her that her mother hadn't lived there for many years. This time the little girl wouldn't hang up. She insisted that her mother still lived there because she was just there this morning. She said to tell her mother that she was stuck at a friends house and that she wouldn't be home that night. Toni told her that she was sure that the little girl was not there that morning and that her mother was not there and would not be coming back.

April told Toni that she could prove that she still lived there. She told Toni to go up to the last bedroom at the end of the hall upstairs (that was Toni's bedroom), look in the bottom of the closet and you would find her doll sitting there where she left it that morning.

Toni hung the phone, told my sister, and they went up there together. When they got into Toni's room they looked in the bottom of her closet, and there was a little rag doll covered in blood.
