This story was given to me by the same friend who gave me "The Face From Long Ago". According to him, it is true.

Every night he would be awakened by the cold that would enter his room. He would gaze over to the door where the form of a women would rise like a mist, then move across the room to a corner, then move back to the door and would be gone.

One day, he finally asked his grandfather what had been in that corner. The grandfather replied. "There used to be a lavatory there. I took it out." This house had been built in the eighteen hundreds. Several deaths had been known to have acure there. One man hung himself, a child was found face down in a cistern, there were more. Perhaps the memory of the women who once used the lavatory still makes the endless trip to an empty corner still vibrating with the echoes of long ago.
