The Freakiest Thing.
From: Kitty (kittiekat338@yahoo.com) Story type: Ghost Location: stepdad's house/my dorm room Source: Form Submission
First of all, I just want to say that I've read almost all the ghost stories on this site, I think it is really cool that everyone can share their experiences here.
Okay, this story takes place two years ago, when I was 18.
I have always been interested in the paranormal, and my best friend and I have the knack for feeling when ghosts are about (she's better at it than I am, though)
Background: I was living with my stepdad and mom at the time in this old house, that was built in the 1920's. I have always felt that there was something else with us in the house. The feeling was particularly strong around this storage closet, which just happened to be in my room (yay for me...)
Anyway, back to the story....It was nearing the anniversary of one of my friends' brutal murder. My best friend and I were talking about it, both of us saying "I wonder what really happened..." and stuff like that. Well, I got done talking to her and went to bed. I'd say it was around 11:30 PM, but I couldn't fall asleep.
Well, I just laid there and thought about my friend's murder (he had been jumped by his then girlfriend, his ex girlfriend and some of his "friends") I finally just opened myself to whatever was out there, thinking that I'd be able to contact my friend's spirit. I kept getting deeper and deeper into a trance-like state when I felt like I wasn't alone in my room and that I was being watched.
Now, let me interrupt the story to say that everyone else was asleep! I had two cats at the time, but neither of them could have gotten into my room since the door was securely locked. (Sorry about all the interruptions, but I want everyone to know the full story)
Well, I opened my eyes and standing around my bed, leaning over me were three shadowy figures. I heard incoherent whispers as they starting leaning in closer. I had no clue what they wanted, but I tore out of there like the Devil himself was on my heels.
After that night, I didn't have any more encounters like that. Most of the time, I would just feel a presence or hear the occasional whisper.
I also wanted to say that I think my dorm room is haunted. I constantly feel like someone is watching me while I'm in bed or sitting on my couch. Whatever it is also doesn't like me talking about it...my best friend (same one from the rest of the story) came over a couple weeks ago and I was telling her what was happening when my ashtray fell from my end table. It wasn't close to the edge or anything! I think I am going to try to talk to the presence one of these days, I will write back if anything happens!
Thank you for reading my rather lengthy story and Blessed Be!
