Screams of Anguish

It was a hot summer evening and my mother and I had been rumaging around my grandfathers, the house itself is about 200 years old. I remembered walking into dark building making my way up the stairs when I heard this blood curdling scream, a scream I had never once before in my life heard. I was so shakened I dared not move. I knew this could not be the screams of two old people, it was entirely to horrifying. I could not bare the thought of standing there so mosied on back down the stairs into the kitchen....when it hit again.....the blood curdling scream. My mother had been outside the whole time and my grandparents did not recall hearing such a thing. I was mortified, stiff with little patience left in me. I knew the place was and it would never come to a shock to discover some entity living with in this house. I waited a minute until I heard it again. I moved into the next room to surprisingly hear the scream coming from the closet. I reluctantly opened the door to find nothing but another door, It lead to the basement.... I opened the door and followed my way into the basement, and to my shock there was a stone in the dirt floor that appeared the shape of a tombstone. I walked hesitantly over to it. I began to uncover the dirt from stone. When I finished all that appeared was a regular old stone. I figured I'd give up. I went upstairs to find both my grandmother and my mother horribly upset with me being in the cellar. Confused I went to my grandfather to find out what the fuss was all about. He said " well, along time ago your great, great cousin, Ellie, lived in this house, but she was only 15 when she was caught in the blazing fire of the flames that took place in this house when it first caught on fire, they set a stone down there where she was buried....the worst part was that all people could hear from the fire was her deathly screams, like the screams of someone in agonizing pain................
