Nite Calls

Well, Let me tell you first of all I don't believe in ghost stories or any other nonsense of that kind. I'm very skeptical when it comes to these things, but I have a story that I can't quite explain... maybe you can figure it out...

Since I'm only in my mid-teens, alot of my money comes from babysitting. So, one night, my parents leave to go for a nice evening with diner, dancing the whole thing. Anyways, so I'm stuck at home babysitting my younger sister. Well, it gets to be about 11 o clock, my sisters in bed, and I'm sitting on the couch upstairs watching T.V and the phone rings, figuring it's my parents, I pick it up, but am greeted with silence, and then a beeping noise. Now normally silence is a no biggy, but the beeping noise on the line signifies that the call is coming from INSIDE the house. Getting a little freaked out, I decide to check all the phones upstairs, forgetting about the cord phone downstairs.... Well, thinking it was just my imagination, I sit back down and begin to watch T.V. again... 11:30 rolls around, and the phone rings again... A little paranoid, I pick up the phone, and again, i am greeted with eerie silence, and the factor that yet again, the call is coming from inside the house... By this time I was in full out panic mode. I ran around the house checking all the phones and rooms, and then locking my self in my bedroom, waiting for my parents... Well, at 12 the phone rings yet again, and by then, I tripped out, and hung up and phoned my neighbour to come and check out the house... Turning on all the lights, we check every room and phone, finally reaching downstairs where the window was wide open, and the phone left off the hook- there's one catch though, the phone was DEAD.
