Movement in the Attic

I also wrote the story about the UFO over my house (Sept. 2001), and the
story about June Lake (April 2001) Well, those same family friends from the
June Lake story own a house in Flagstaff. We go up there with them and stay
there for the weekend every once in a while. My Aunt had always told us
weird stories about that house. She is like that though, always watching
shows about ghosts, UFO's, and stuff like that. She would always tell us
ghost stories. Anyway, she told us just little things, like how once a
picture in the bathroom fell when nobody touched it and the nail that held
it was still intact in the wall. Or once when they were staying with another
couple of friends and the couple claimed they heard squeaking and creaking
and pounding noises all night but my aunt said they didn't hear a sound and
that it didn't come from them. There is a small door, those kind you pull
from the ceiling and they have the little stairs, that leads to the attic in
the master bedroom in the closet. My mom and sister slept in one room, and I
slept by myself in the room next to them with the bunk beds. Nobody ever
liked sleeping in there, because they just claimed they saw weird lights or
heard weird noises. I liked sleeping in there, as long as I slept on the top
bunk, fell asleep with the t.v. on, and I left the bathroom light on in the hall, so
it wasn't completely pitch black. I just always sleep really well in
there, so peacefully. We stayed there for three days and three nights, and
during all three as I watched t.v. growing sleepy I heard noises coming from
the attic. At first they were faint, but they would get louder and louder,
then faint again. It was scratching and pounding kind of noises almost like
somebody was pounding their foot right above my room. In the morning of the
second day, my sister mentioned that she heard noises, and I excitedly told
her I heard the noises also. We told my Aunt, whom was sleeping in the
master bedroom, and she claimed she didn't hear anything like what we
described. I wasn't scared a
t the time I heard the noises, even though I guess I should have been, I
just fell back asleep, it was just weird to me. So, I don't know what it
was. It could be a ghost, but as the cabin in June Lake, I don't know the
history of the house, and it is fairly old- I do know that it dates back to
the forty's. Of course, it has been modified since then.
