Bad Creature

One night I woke up with a heavy feeling, and I couldn't breathe. It felt like someone was strangling me. I had trouble moving, but I did move, and saw a black figure with glowing red eyes over me, and it had it's hands around my neck. I began swinging my arms, and they swung through it. Then I was able to sit up, and I kept swinging my fists through it, and it moved out of my reach. I was sitting on the edge of the bed at this point, and I sat there looking at it, and it floated just out of my reach. I was getting a very menacing feeling from it. I didn't understand if it wanted to do something to me, or it wanted me to do something for it, but I was confident that I couldn't do anything it wanted me to do. I laid back down in the bed, and turned my back to it, and started saying the 'Hail Mary' prayer over and over, and went back to sleep. All the time I lay there I could feel it's eyes staring into my back. Thanks for reading, this one confused me.
