My Toddler Saw a Ghost!

Last night my two-year old confirmed what I have been thinking the past year and a half. To give you a little background-- at first I didn"t think anything about these happenings. Just assumed it was one of those quirks. But they started to happen regularly until I noticed at pattern. I would be standing in the kitchen of our home (built in 1934) and the plastic panel that cover the recessed lighting would come flying out and onto the floor. There are probably eight different panels and it would always be a different one. When I checked them, they were fit snuggly to the opening, it made no sence. One day my husband and I were in the living room and heard a crash. The lid to our garbage can was half way across the kitchen and two cupboard doors were opened. About a month ago we heard a muffled noise in the kitchen, I ignored it and went to bed. Five minutes later my husband came into the bedroom and told me to come see something. When we went into the kitchen it had stopped. He had observed the lid to our tea kettle moving up and down. I lifted it to see if maybe it was loose or something and it was wedged tightly in the pot. My husband poo poos all of these things, even when he sees them himself! However, last night I became convinced! My 2 year old little boy (a very intuitive kid I might add) came into the kitchen and grabbed ahold of my leg. He pointed to the living room and said that Homer was in there. "Homer?" I said, thinking that I didn"t understand him, "Yes, Homer playing the drums!" So we walked into the living room and he is pointing toward the corner saying "See Homer, he playing the drums!" I told him I didn"t see anything. We walked closer and then he pointed outside the glass door. "There he is, there Homer, see him!" I was freaking so I took him in the other room to his Daddy and told him to tell Daddy what he saw. He pointed out the window and said "Homer outside". He was motioning with his arms like he was playing the drums, then he took my husband"s hand and put them on his head. He shook his head back and forth. We asked him if he was scared of Homer. He said, "I not scared, HOMER IS SCARED!" We tried to get more details from his story (man or boy etc.) But he just kept insisting that Homer lived out in the backyard (where there is a pool house, a shed, and a woods) and he was playing the drums. I called his babysitter to see if she had ever seen him watch a show with Homer or ever talked about Homer--he never had. This was not your typical 2-year old, free association type story (I have other children.) He was very in- sistant. I want to take him outside tonight and see if he can be more specific about where Homer lives. I am convinced he saw this man/boy/thing?!! My husband just laughs it off (denial maybe?) and teases me about this. I am not a nut case. My husband and I are both high school teachers. Of course I have only told my sister and best friend about all of this. I don"t want people to think I"m goofy. I would like to do a complete history of the house. The drums also got me to thinking. We live on US 12 which used to be the Old Sauk Trail, a major trail for Indians travelling east and west. But whoever heard of an Indian named "Homer?"
