The Star Lit Road

It was a regular dark scary night by the lake when I and a friend wished to sneak out and cause mischief. We grabbed our flashlights and bowie knives, and headed down the long yard to the road. We laughed and talked and joked for a while as we continued down the star lit road, no cars meant a good sign. We went down to the docks at the north end of the lake, there are three docks, we each choose one and sat down and unraveled our hand lines we hand taken from his dads tackle box and started fishing for catfish. I don't think we had caught more than 5 fish when we heard a growling noise from the road. Startled, we looked up and seen a wolf like creature, unbelievably the size of a gorilla.

It looked at us for a brief moment then came toward us.

Now being the only one of us that knew how to throw a knife, I got up and took aim, let fly and watched as it struck the creature, now in great shock I looked to see if I had wounded it, and to my dismay, it had not.

I looked over to my friend and we both ran like the dickens after it, wanting to show everyone in the morning the beast we had fought, and killed. The creature on all fours, looked like a great massive gorilla, its back was brown and muscle bound, every inch of its massive arms were bulged out. However, I think the creature liked the idea of us coming after it, so it bounded off into a neighbors yard and ran into the woods near by where the construction men were building another lake. I've heard a story of two kids from the country of loda that also encountered a creature similar to this one, and had shot it quite a few times. Though I'm not sure what it was perhaps I could just keep searching.
