Hi! I would like to share my true haunting with you. It took place in late 1998. I found a really good deal on a townhouse. It was everything we needed, including cheap rent. Little did I know...
I knowingly rented the place despite the rumors that it was haunted by a man who killed himself there. I am a novice student of the paranormal, so I thought this would be perfect for my informal studies. My husband and two kids ages 4 and 8 at the time were not so sure.
** It all started right away, but I kind of thought this could be wishful thinking on my part, or my wild imagination. Doors and mini-blinds that were closed would be opened by themselves. My husband and kids denying profusely of having done this. My cats would hear something on the stairs and would run to the staircase and just sit real still and stare at something. I would go look and would see nothing.
One night I was upstairs reading and saw a really bad patch job on the ceiling, I just thought we must of had a bad leak here in the past -and made a mental note to keep an eye open the next time it rained .The next day I met my neighbor Janice. Later in the conversation, I asked her if anyone had died or had been killed in my place. She said yes, the former tenant had cut a hole in the ceiling of the master bedroom and had hung himself off of a support beam. That he was very depressed because he lost his job, his wife found someone else and was taking the kids away too.
****Ever since we moved in the whole time we lived there I suffered a terrible depression, my kids fought more than usual, and my husband and I were always it seemed to be at each other's throats. One night the eve before Thanksgiving, my husband took the kids to see a movie so I could get a quiet head start on my baking. The minute they left things got a little crazy. My kids' toys in the living room floor BOTH started going off, one right after the other. Then I could feel a heavy presence that you could almost touch. It felt menacing. I felt like I was being stared at. My son's Buzz Lightyear went off repeatedly and my daughter's fantasy princess doll played its music by its self repeatedly too. You push a button on her necklace and it plays music. This was very scary because I didn't know what to expect next.
One night my cat Chloe and I went to bed early my husband stayed downstairs to watch some late night TV. I was almost asleep when my cat jerked her head up to that spot in the ceiling (which is right above the bed) then she jerked her head to the closet. I could see nothing, but the room got really cold so I grabbed my cat and ran downstairs to where my husband was. We could hear floorboards creaking upstairs in our bedroom. Both kids were asleep.
Some of the things got to be a little too much for my family plus the neighborhood was bad but we didn't know that until after we moved in, so after our 6 months lease was up we moved. My depression was gone, the kids were better, and my husband and I got along better. If asked if given the chance to do it all over again and still live there I would have to say YES. I learned a lot. My family says no. They are even saying no as I write this.
