The Devil's Game

It was a windy autumn night , and the leafless trees swayed over and back outside. But the night wont stop the lads from their game of cards, not even Satan himself would stop them , well maybe. You see lately the lads were having a wee game of cards just opposite "The Mass Inn" in a old grotto shed. The shed had a basement and a middle floor with just a few stools and a table for furniture.

This night was like every other night until the clock struck twelve and a loud ear piercing "BANG" came upon the door, all of them jumped but not one lost his cool. John (the owner of the shed) stood up to answer the door but as he did it flew open and a dark figure stood staring at them. All was silent in the room for about half a minute and then Patrick (one of the lads) said in a shacking tone "c..can w..w..we hh..help y..you?" then the figure answered with "I believe you can help me , I have been told you young men were having a card game in this very shed , is this true?". John told him that they were having a card game and that he good join the man told him his name was Stan and said that he was a master card player they had a argument about this for a while until Patrick said that they would just start the game and see who would was truly the best card player. After a few drinks were drank and a few games were played john started to get suspicious about the man who called himself "Stan". Stan was a tall man , none of the lads got to see his hair as a black hood was covering it , he wore a long dark cloak . The cloak covered his feet only a little bit but it seemed his feet were very small . After about another hour it was Johns turn to deal the cards but as he was giving Patrick his third card it slipped of the table and down to the basement . so Patrick stood up and walked down the basement stairs to grab his card witch was two steps away from the bottom, but as he turned around to walk balk up to play cards he got a glimpse of "Stan's" feet but no he didnt get a glimpse of any ones feet all he saw was hooves the devils hooves. After all cards is the "DEVILS" game isnt it?????
