My aunt lives in a public housing project, which is hardly a place where one would expect to experience anything unusual.
On the morning of Thanksgiving 1999,my aunt was lying in bed getting her last few minutes of rest before beginning the preparations for the holiday festivities. Suddenly, she felt two fingers poking her hand which was resting on her hip. She automatically assumed it was one of her two sons, and with some irritation, she said, "What?!" and turned around to find no one there.
Later that day, while the whole family was celebrating, the conversation turned to ghosts. I thought it was awfully strange that my aunt had lived in that apartment for several years without having before reported anything unusual. I asked her if that was the first time she had had any unusual experiences in the apartment and she said yes. She thought again for a moment and then recalled that often it would sound like someone was knocking at the door in the wee hours of the morning, and she would often drag herself out of bed to find no one there. She then eventually learned to ignore the knocking.
No other strange occurrences have taken place there since. The incidents didn't frighten my
aunt, but they
certainly startled her.
