Several years ago I lived with my husband and daughter in a rental house. I had an odd feeling when we first looked at it to rent, but the location and price were so good that I disregarded that feeling. At first I would occasionally sense someone behind me, catch the scent of wood smoke, or see something out of the corner of my eye before turning and discovering that I was completely alone. I would continue to get eerie feelings, and it was perpetually cold in a storage space located behind the refrigerator. The way the house was situated, this storage space was a triangular shaped area under the stairs. It was not long before I came to realize that we were sharing the house with a presence. He did not seem to like the fact that we lived there, but for the most part, his anger was directed at me, and I could live with odd feelings.

When I became pregnant however, this all changed. The adverse feeling I felt from him now became hateful. Several times I came home late at night, and could not bring myself to drive into the driveway. The darkness seemed impenetrable, and I could just feel the hatred there. My husband chalked it up to pregnancy nerves, but when he came home, the presence would seem to lighten up.

It all came to a head three days after I came home from the hospital after giving birth. I had a C-Section, and was not yet back to normal. I was still in pain from the surgery, and I would walk slowly and carefully. I was sleeping in my childrens room with the baby, so my husbands movements would not cause me pain. I had just laid down to sleep, when I felt an urge to change into a night gown. This in itself was strange because I do not wear gowns to bed, just T-shirts and flannel shorts. I bypassed my bedroom, where any gowns would have been and began down the stairs.

Before I knew it I was no longer on my feet. It was as if my legs had been kicked out from under me, and I was falling. I did not roll down, or turn in any way, but when I realized I was falling I was horizontal to the ground, about four feet above the stairs, and falling fast. I called out to my husband, and hit the stairs. My husband came running. He yelled to me about whether had I been carrying the baby, and as I cried no, I could swear I heard laughing coming from behind him.

A few weeks later I spoke to a friend of my moms who is a psychic, and she came to the house. I was given some instructions and after performing them, the presence seemed to disappear. My friend told me that the presence at the end of the driveway was not just the angry ghost, but a sentinel as well. I was worried that he would come back, but she told me that after I expelled him from the house, the Sentinel would take care of him. There were no more incidents after that, and we remained peacefully in the house until the end of our lease.
