Roaming Indians
anonymous Story type: Ghost Location: Queens, New York Source: Form Submission
This is a story about what happened to a friend of mine, so it will be considered folklore.
Our apartment building was built on an old indian burial ground. After all the scares my friend had been through she went to the public library to do some research. The strangest thing is that only one side of our building was haunted. From the sixth floor to the lobby.
Anyway, one day in her apartment (she lived on the 3rd floor she was taking a shower when she noticed a dark hand appear and disappear through the shower curtain. She thought it was her husband so she called out to him. No answer. She ran out of the shower and no one was home.
Another time, she was home alone, she was laying on her bed and her door opened by itself. She finally saw the ghost!! He walked into her room and layed down right next to her. She couldn"t move or even scream. He then got up and disappeared.
He loved to run all around her apartment, opening and slamming doors, coming up behind her and touching her. She wasn"t the only one in her house who had seen him. So had her kids. She couldn"t take it anymore and she finally moved out. To her relief, he didn"t follow her to her new home.
Unfortunately, I had moved into that same apartment after her and began noticing dark moving shadows from the corners of my eyes and certain cold spots in the apartment. I didn"t find out about our friend the ghost until after I moved in and asked her about the weird things I was seeing. I even questioned my mother-in-law who lives on the fifth floor. She"d say oh yeah, they come and go as they please.
Another friend of mine who lives on the ground floor,
and still lives there, always tells me that she can"t seem to get rid of the Indian who roams
around her house. Okayyy!! Well, fortunately, I MOVED OUT!!
