Ouija Board
From: Dan Bradley (terpada@erols.com) Story type: Ghost Location: Ellicott City, MD Source: Form Submission
This is a recounting of what happenned one afternoon at a friends house. Out of respect to him, I will not use my friend's real name. I will, instead, call him Bob. (i know, real original, huh?)
That evening, he and I were going to a concert with two other people. I came over to his house early so we could hang out. The others were not going to arrive for some time, and we eventually got rather bored. Looking through his parent's closet, we found a Ouija board. This was quite surprising, as his parents are very religious and discourage such things as they deem innapproprate. My friend and I, however, were not so disinclined. He is a Wiccan and I will soon be initiated as a Wiccan.
For those of you reading who are unfamiliar with Wicca, Wiccans are witches. This is a very simplified definition for a rather complex religion. It will, however, suffice to fit the story.
We decided to use the board, and brought it into his living room. After preparing ourselves, we placed our hands on the plechette. Our first question was; "Is there anybody out there?" The plechette slowly moved to "yes". Niether of us will screw around with this kind of stuff, so we were quite sure the movement was not our fault. Our next question was; "Who are you?". The ouija board spelled out "Machini", which was the name of the previous owner of the house, who died in the master bedroom. Next we asked what he saw. The board spelled out "brown" We decided this was referring to my brown hair, beacause his is blonde and the room is decorated with bright colors.
After a few more messages, we asked if the spirit meant any harm, or not. The reply was simply; "witch" My friend was visibly startled by this. He suggested that we say goodbye, and put the board away. We did, and later, I asked him why we stopped so abruptly. He then told me that he had been in his bedroom and had seen the spirit. Not in the room, but in his mind. He didn't say what he felt when he saw the spirit, and I let it drop at that.
I am mildly psychic, and my friend is very psychic, so I do not doubt the validity of this occurrance, or his story about seeing the spirit. However, the abrupt ending of the whole thing left me feeling as if something was left unresolved. If we decide to do anymore sessions with the Ouija board, I will proptly write about these sessions.
Blessed Be!
