Noises In The Trees

There's a cemetery up in the hills of our town in California. Alot of my friends and I use to go up there at night to kick back and enjoy the view of the San Francisco bay area. The front gate was always open and people use to come and go as they pleased at any hour of the day. Everyone always respected the cemetery, there was no vandalism or littering, so there was never a problem.
We had gone up there on numerous occassions without any spooky vibes or scary incidents so we were always comfortable hanging out there. Our favorite place to go was the top of the hill in the middle of the cemetery. A huge oak tree was on the very top in a clearing and a ring of private tombs surrounded it. A small grove of pine trees were just 30 feet away from the east side of the oak.
One night I went up there with two of my friends to kick back. We went to our usual spot, a tomb with the name J.H. Strobridge on it. It was on the top of the hill right next to the oak tree which was just in back of it. The oak tree was very large and its branches extended on either side of the tomb. We particularly liked this spot because the steps on the tomb made comfortable seats and it had a spectacular view of the bay.
I had just sat down and my friends were standing in front of me facing the tomb and the tree behind it. Just when I cracked open my first beer I heard something in the brush to my left behind the tomb. At first I thought it was just leaves rustling or something and ignored it. Just a few seconds later It sounded like someone or something very large was coming out from right behind me. I looked at my friend standing in front of me and saw his surprised expression. I immediately looked to my left and saw the brach of the tree swinging wildly. I jumped up right that second with goosebumps all over and expected a deer or some bum to come out but nothing happened and the movement stopped. We looked back through the brush and saw nothing. We assumed it was a racoon or something and decided to go to a different area to the left of the hill where there were no trees or brush that would scare us.
That's when things got a little too scary. We were facing the hill about 60 feet away and the pine trees which were about 30 feet away. We were watching intently waiting for some wild animal to emerge but saw nothing. We could see very well too because of all the light pollution in our area. The pine trees which were closest to us were very tall and sparse with no branches close to the ground.
No sooner than when we got comfortable in our new spot we heard what seemed like enormous branches being broken by something very large. It sounded like a dinosaur breaking down trees or something. It was coming from the pine trees and it sounded very high up. What was all the more puzzling was that there was no movement in any of the trees at all. From what we heard there should have been trees falling over or huge branches falling to the ground. It wasn't wind, the night was very still and wind couldn't have caused what we heard, nor a deer or racoon ar any small animal for that matter.
This lasted for a few seconds and then stopped. We were not going to be scared that easy and we wanted to stay, but a few saconds later it started again and this time it was louder. Without hesitation we split, running all the way without looking back.
I have wanted to go back to see if anything else strange would
happen but the cemetery has since stopped staying open at night because some
freak dug up someone's grave and stole their skull. I'm not about to climb
over that fence without having a quick exit.
