This is an account of a "visitor" we had when I was a small child. I lived in an old house in the small town of Hampton, Ontario. I lived there with my brother and parents. As my brother and I were only toddlers, my parents had installed locks on the outsides of our bedrooms doors to keep us in there during naptime. Quite convenient for them, but I wasn't to happy with the arrangement. We could not get out of our rooms without my parents letting us out.

Several times my parents heard the pitter-patter of little feet running up and down the hallway. This was of course when we were sleeping, so naturally they got up, getting ready to yell at us and put us back to bed. They didn't see anything, or hear anything once they got into the hall. The locks were still locked and we were still in bed. Hmmm...

My parents also heard footsteps walking up the sidewalk to the door that connected to the kitchen. No one was ever there. My uncle heard these noises as well. He first thought he was going crazy. My parents let him in on their little secret. We had a ghost! This visitor would also play a nasty trick on my parents and whomever else happened to be over. My parents had a glass ornament of the Pendle Witch sitting on the shelves in our living room. Nice crystal, very expensive. One afternoon my parents heard a bang in the living room. My parents and their company went to see what the noise was. The witch was sitting on the floor. Neither my brother nor I were tall enough to reach it. My parents looked around, then put the ornament back up on the highest shelf. It fell off a few more times. The last time it happened, my parents were watching TV when they heard a crash! They ran into the living room, thinking that my brother or I had gotten up and gotten into something. No, the Pendle witch was lying on the floor and had shattered.

I don't remember any of these occurrences. I was just told these stories by my Uncle Allan, who remembers everything about everyone. This is my 15 minutes of fame, and I an very proud of them.

Thank-you for taking the time to read a little about my life.
