My Mother-In-Law's House

Okay, I moved into my mother-in-law's house in Jan. of 1997. Now I was told some stories about this "ghost" but wasn't sure if I should believe them, until I started experiencing them for myself. 

The first account that I remember was one night when me and my husband were laying in bed talking and right in the middle of a sentence i stopped. I had a chill come over me and felt as if someone was standing staring at me. When I turned in that direction I saw nobody was there, yet I still had that feeling. 

Many other things happened to everyone else in the house before the creepiest thing I remember happened to me. I am a smoker, and after a meal one night I wanted a cigarette. Well I began looking for them where I had left them and couldn't find them. So I started looking everywhere for them. I even lifted an ottoman to see if they were under there. No luck! So i gave up insisting that they would show up eventually and asked my mother-in-law for one of hers. As I sat there smoking I happen to glance down and there they were! ON THE OTTOMAN I HAD LIFTED UP!!! Now common sense tells me that if they had been on top they would of hit the floor and I would of heard them hit the hard wood floor....but they didn't. They just appeared there as if they had been there the whole time...but they weren't.
