My House

My name is Todd. I a am 11 years old. I live in Mississippi. I would like to tell you about my haunted house.

First of all, I will start you with the history of my house. My house was built in 1814 and was a slave plantation. I am totally against slavery and am embarrased that my ancestors had slaves. The house has been in my family for years. I have lived there my whole life. It has been completely modernized since then (duh!).

Well, now to the scary part. We have a lot of undeveloped land on our property that was where they used to grow whatever they used to grow (I never asked.). At certain times of the day, if you go out into the fields, you feel like you are being watched and if you listen very carefully, you can hear singing. It's very strange.

Here is the part that is very freaky. On day, my friend and I were playing in the fields when I saw an african American man dressed in rags looking at me. I couldn't move at all. I could only stair. Then all of a sudden he faded away. I was shocked. I told my parents and they said that they had seen him too.

Another strange occurance is if you go into the basement of my house, you hear the cracking of a whip and screaming. This has only happen twice though and I found out that In the basement, they used to beat the slaves and store potatoes. That Is about all that has happened. Thank you.
