Little Things

Strange occurences happen from time to time in my house, which I've lived in for about 6 years. Nothing that has happened is really scaring, actually I find them amusing.

A short time after we moved in, I was getting ready for school, at that time I was the last to leave the house in the morning and then first to return, anyway, as I was getting dressed, I heard the hair dryer (in the bathroom) turn on - there was no one but me in the house! I was a little freaked out, but at the same time I was amused that something like that happened.

A short time later, I had just come home from school and as usual went directly to the bathroom. The bathroom light cover was balanced on the side of the bathtub. Nothing odd about that except that it was not there when I left in the morning and there's no way it could have fallen and bounced. I tried dropping it, it does not bounce.

Last summer we had some work done in the backyard. I was still the last to leave in the morning and the first to come home in the afternoon. On the days that someone was working in the back yard, (there were several occaisions) I would come home and find the blinds in my room pulled completely open - as if someone was watching the workers. There was absolutley no one in the house all day.

Sometimes I would go out to cut the grass, come back into the house and find the blinds open. I know that I did not leave the blinds open because I never open them. A friend of my mothers moved in with us for awhile, she always complained that it felt like someone was in the house with her.

My girlfriend temporarily moved in with us. One night, we were both sound asleep, woke up at the same time to the sound of my computer keys tapping. Logically, it was the cat, however I didn't see the cat on the keys and more importantly, the door was shut and I did not let the cat in the room that night. The next night while sleeping I was awakened to someone distinctly whispering (a very loud whisper) my name in my ear. I assumed it was my girlfriend, but she was sound asleep.

On another occaision, my family was in the kitchen. The blinds start to move and my father asked what "that crazy cat" was doing now. My sister pointed out that the cat was not there. My father blamed the wind, but the windows were all closed.

Often, the cat will stare at one corner of the living room, very intently with her ears up, as if she is watching something. As I said, these weren't very scary occurances, but I get a kick out of it.
