Homely Hauntings
From: Dustin Copening (a0002324@airmail.net) Story type: Ghost Location: House Source: Form Submission
I live in a small town near Dallas and have experienced strange occurances from time to time. I used to be afraid of the dark and left a closet light on.
One night I could not go to sleep for one reason or another. Thoughts of ghosts and robbers seemed to be going through my head (I'm sure that is very common with young children) when my closet light went out. I somehow could tell that the light had not just burned out. As most children would do I screemed for my parents. When they inspected the bulb they found that it had been unscrewed. This could be attributed to the earth moving, but the bulb was tightly screwed in and I have never had this event occur before.
Another inscident that occured at a young age had to deal with a favorite toy. I had a wind up Snoopy toy that would walk in circles. I had played with the toy for some time and put it up in cubicals that were halfway across the room from my bed. I fell asleep but was awoken by a strange scratching sensation on my foot. I screemed for my parents and it turned out that the toy had somehow gotten to the foot of my bed, wound itself up, and was brushing my foot. My parents swear to this day that they had nothing to do with this or any incident.
Another occurence happened when I was 13 and home alone for awhile. I was walking down my hallway when I heard a moaning. I ignored it and was in my parents bathroom when I heard the moaning again, this time much louder and it seemed that it was coming from my parents room. It was a calm day and so the wind could not be a factor. The only way that I can attribute this to anything is paranormal or ghost. A highway used to run very close to my house and I think that this could be the source of the polterguiest or ghosts.
I have yet to experience any other
paranormal incidents but I am sure that I will soon as every time
the experiences seem to die down something happens. I have begun
a page on paranormal at http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Arcade/9891
If anyone has any explenations please email me. Thank you for
your time.
