Haunting on Country Way Drive
From: Mary Rachel Lewis (mary.rachel.lewis@mci.com) Story type: Ghost Location: My Fiance's house in Baton Rouge, La. Source: Form Submission
The following story is true. In 1995, my now fiance', Graham, bought a house in Baton Rouge, La. The house was built around 1980. The house had two previous owners before Graham. The first owners were a young couple who were newly married. Apparently, the husband was into erotic asphyxiation. In early 1989, the husband went too far and accidently killed himself.
My fiance' and I were just recently told about this incident.
Back in 1996, I kept seeing an outline of a tall man go by in different parts of the house. I thought maybe I had imagined the incidents and kept my thoughts to myself. However, after hearing noises in another room one night, I asked Graham if someone died in the house. He laughed and said "No! This house isn't that old. You are just imagining." I told him I had a funny feeling about the house and what I thought I saw. I also told him about one of the closets in the master bathroom that I dreaded going into. I always got an uncomfortable feeling going into the closet.
Just recently (Summer of 1997), our neighbor came over and asked me how I liked the house. After small talk about changes we wanted to do, she asked me if I knew someone died in the house. Before she could tell me, I asked her if it was a man. She said yes, and told me how he died. She also stated that he was tall - 6'.
Now, I must state that I am not scared to stay in the house. I just feel uncomfortable that the entity might not know he is dead and needs to go on towards the light. Also, I do not see or feel that he is near all the time. I told my fiance' that I feel the entity is more of an observer of our day to day routine and doesn't want to interact with us too much.
Of course, my fiance' thought and still thinks this is a bunch of bull. However, the day after our neighbor told me of the death, Graham was drinking a cup of coffee in bed when the handle suddenly came off and the hot coffee fell into his lap. He said a few choice words towards the ceiling to the entity. I told him it was the entity's way of saying " believe in me".
Just recently, another neighbor, a cop, said the story of the man was true. That the body was reported to have been found in the MASTER BATHROOM! The place where the closet was that I hated to go in.
