Ghost or Angel?

Several years ago I rented a house/mobile (it had been built on to) in Whippoorwill Bay. I was a single mom in love with a married man (I have grown-up and now know this is WRONG). The man I was in love with had left his wife and three boys, one which was incurably sick, only to go back to them later. I did not hold this against him, they needed him a lot worse than I did. That still did not keep me from wishing.

I have always been a little interested in the unexplained, I believe there is more out there than meets the eye.

During my love-struck phase I had picked up a horoscope magazine. that happened to have an article on candle-burning in it. I had a fireplace in my bedroom (the added on part of the mobile) and set up a few choice colored candles on the hearth. I would sit for long periods of time before these candles (alter?) and wish (pray?) for my boyfriend to be free.

One night, while "wishing", I looked into the back of the fireplace and on the wall was what looked like the image of a demon, horns and all. It scared the hell out of me! I blew out the candles and for a long time I wouldn't burn any candle that was not white.

Later, in this same house, the same room, I saw something else. My bedroom was long and narrow, my bed was up against the narrow end, opposite the fireplace. I woke up one morning and there was a misty figure standing at the foot of my bed. The bulb had burned out in the lamp by my bed so to get a light on I had to get up, walk down the side of my bed, walk around this figure, just to get to the light switch. The figure was a little shorter than me, I stand 5'6". I did not feel afraid at all. I just wanted the light on so I could see it better! As soon as I turned the light on though, it vanished. I should have known.

I often think about what I saw in that house. I was praying for something so wrong, could that have brought forth a demon? The white, misty figure... was that a ghost, or maybe an angel, letting me know everything would be alright? My co-workers gave me odd looks when I told them about it, my family and husband (we met close to the time this happened) don't believe me. I only told them about the white, misty figure though. My mom thought it might have been a street light (but there were none around my house) or headlights from a car (these would have shined straight down the street).

I don't want to know anything about demonology, but if any one has any ideas of what I saw, or similar experiences, I would be very interested in hearing them.
