Ghost in the House

Growing up I was witness to many strange occurrences in my childhood home. Hearing someone waking up the stairs that lead to the bedrooms, when no one was there. Often would hear banging on the walls around the house, a doorbell that would ring at 3:00 in the morning, and televisions that would change channels by themselves. Often these incidents were provoked by me, asking the 'sprit' to prove its existence to me.

The most convincing encounter was one my mother witnessed. One night my mother was downstairs watching television, no one but the dog to keep her company. She started to fall asleep on the couch. All of a sudden the dog jumped up and started to bark and growl. My mother woke startled and looked to see what was causing the dog to be so upset. She saw a young man standing behind the chair across from her. Not making a sound or move this translucent figure just stared at her. She said she did not feel any fear and went to grab the dog to stop him from barking. After she grabbed the dog she looked back to where this young man was standing, he was no longer there.

I never was frightened by these events, and now that I moved out of that house.. I have to say I miss them, because I often had the feeling that this 'spirit' was friendly and caring.
