When I was thirteen my family lived in an old house on an old road. Every year around Christmas time strange things would begin to happen. For example the door leading to the sun porch would mysteriously open and close, the rocking chair would rock without anyone sitting in it, and every once in a while, out of the corner of your eye, you could see someone wearing blue stand behind the rocking chair. At first we always thought it was our mother because she had a blue housecoat which she wore around the house and she would often stand behind the rocker to watch T.V. or to talk to us but then when we would turn to look at her there was no one there. Well, one morning I found out who it was. I had come down stairs for breakfast(I was the only one up) and I looked into my parents room which was just off the kitchen. Standing at the foot of their bed was this woman with long blond hair and a blue gown. She was staring down at my parents. From where I was standing I could only see the foot of my parents bed through the doorway. This woman went to my mothers side of the bed and walked towards the head of the bed. She walked out of my line of view so I ran to the door to see what she was doing but she had dis- appeared. It was weird but I wasn't scared. We never got the sense that whatever was there was evil and she only came around Christmas time and then the opening door and the rocking chair would stop. I only saw the woman once.
