Family Ties
From: Anonymous Story type: Ghost Location: My London home Source: Form Submission
I come from a Irish family who have a strong belief in the spiritual. My parents moved to England over twenty years ago and we return to Ireland very rarely. In recent years, as various family members have died in Ireland, myself and my mother have known of their deaths before we are told. My Grandfather died eight years ago. We knew he was ill and so booked the first ferry over. Just before we left the house, the easter candle we had lit in the living room suddenly blew out even though there was no wind in the room and no-one near it. My Mother immeadiately stated that Grandad would be dead before we could reach Ireland. He died while we were crossing the Irish sea.
Several years afterward, my uncle fell ill with cancer. We were not told until it became evident that it was terminal and decided to, again, book the earliest crossing. We were set to leave on November 2nd All Souls day. However, on Halloween evening, as we sat and watched television, there was a loud crash from the hallway as a firmly attached picture fell from the wall. We all knew that my Uncle had died as the later telephone call from my Aunt confirmed.
This unfortunate ability was again apparent last year. My Grandmother
(who lives in England) told us
that her sister was coming home to England after over 30 years in California.
I told Mum that she was
coming home to die, we attended her funeral four months later.
