Premonitory Dream

When this happened, I was a cashier in a drugstore in downtown Montreal. My co-worker's cash register counter and mine were both facing each other; we were the cashiers at the entrance of the drugstore. I was a relatively new employee at the drugstore at the time.

Well one night I dreamt that my cash register was broken, that it had been replaced by a very old cash register, you know the kind that doesn't calculate for you, that is , you have to calculate mentally at each transaction. In my dream, I saw myself arriving at work and my co-worker telling me " Hey Caroline! Your cash register is broken and they've had to replace it with the oldest one that we have here. You'll have to do the calculations yourself as it doesn't calculate automatically! " And as I came at my counter, I saw this very old yellow cash register at the place of my newer one. " O.K. ", I thought, " I'll have to do with this one! " I remember feeling very uncomfortable about it.

Coming back to reality, the next morning, upon arriving at my work, imagine the surprise I had when my co-worker shouted out to me " Hey Caroline! This morning we had to replace your cash register as it is broken. They put the old cash register at your place but Mr. X asked that it be put at my counter and that my cash register be put at your counter because, you see, I have more experience as a cashier and since it doesn't calculate automatically, he figured that it would be easier for you to have mine while yours is being repaired " The old cash register was identical to the one I saw in my dream! Now, as I said earlier, I was relatively new at the job, so I had never seen that old cash register before!
