Lost Time

this is an actual personal experience.....a friend and i (i won't reveal his name because he may not wish to be known) were visiting our girlfriends' house (they were sisters) when they had to go do something with their parents (i think it was go to dinner).

well, of course, we did not want to go, so we took off....as we were going down the road, we decided to stop at the irvin (not sure of the spelling) hotel and check the place out....the hotel was obviously a grand place in its heyday, but at the time, it was just decrepit and ruined...well, we pulled up to the hotel, maybe about thirty feet from the front entrance (there was no door, it had either fallen or felled by vandals....we stopped the car and rolled down the windows (it was a summer night and we also wanted to hear if any cars were coming down the road for we did not want to get caught trespassing...

this friend and i sat there for a few minutes when we started seeing all these little lights in the windows and even in the dark doorway in front of us...at first, we thought they were fireflies, because that was about the size of them, then we realized that the lights weren't moving erratically (as fireflies do), they were moving in a straight line horizontally....they'd stay on a few seconds, then go out....i distinctly remember looking at the clock and it said 7:38 (PM)...my friend at that point said "look, it looks like there is somebody standing right there!" (pointing into the doorway directly in front of us.....

the next thing both of us knew is that we were driving back down the road we had come from....the windows were rolled up....speechless, we pulled over to the side of the road...once that was accomplished, we started asking each other what happened....neither of us had any idea...so, we decided to go back to our girlfriends' house...we got there and when we opened our doors to get out, we discovered both our shoes and the floor of his car muddy and grassy....the time was 10:39 (PM exactly as we pulled into our girlfriends' driveway)....we had evidently been at the place for hours and even walked around it, but have no memory whatsoever to this day about what it was my friend pointed out, the lights, or even what happened in the time 'lost'....if any of you happen to be reading this and have any ideas that might explain it, feel free to e-mail me...i should've mentioned this before, but i'm going to now before anybody else suggests it.....no drugs or alcohol were involved.....
