The White Car

I've always believed that someone watches over us, but had never seen it with my own eyes. To witness any event that tells you someone means well, is an eye-opening experience. Also a mind- and heart-opening experience, because you never know what could happen. Not long ago, I got my license. I was happy that I'd passed, and also, had never driven alone before. I thought I'd wait until I felt comfortable with the car. I'd wait until I felt ready. I'd wait until I felt that I was for sure an excellent driver.
On Tuesdays, I have a clarinet lesson in another town. My dad lets me use the car, but you have to get on 295 to get to this other town. I drove, but he sat with me. After the lesson, we usually meet my mom, who goes to a WeightWatchers meeting every Tuesday, at a Papa Gino's in our town.
So, here we were at the pizza place. I'd had my fill and wanted to go home, but my parents wanted to go grocery shopping.
"Why don't you drive home by yourself? You HAVE your license." My stomach suddenly had butterflies. I couldn't help but crack a smile. 'Hmm...' I thought, 'Alone. No parents to grill me on my driving skills.'
"Okay, then. Wish me luck." And I headed out the door. I wasn't really driving totally alone. I had my dog, Muffin, with me.
I drove like a pro and felt better about myself. Although, going home, I couldn't help but notice that the whole time, there was this white car following me. I shrugged it off and decided it was someone going the same way.
I turned off onto the street that links to mine and the white car continued down the main road. I also shrugged that off.
I pulled into our driveway and we (me and Muffin) got in the house. My parents asked me to call them when I got back, so I grabbed the phone to the call their cell.
Just as I was talking to my dad, that same white car came from the direction one would come, if taking the road from the back way. The car wasn't going fast enough for me to miss it at the window. But when I got the window, the car had disappeared.
I decided it was an angel.
The same type of thing happened very recently when I went out alone in the car. I had a few errands to run. I had to discuss my work hours with the editor of our town's newspaper. I'm working there as an intern now. I also had to buy new reeds for my clarinet.
The white car was there again. It seemed to follow me everywhere. I stopped off at a local convenience store to pick up a soda and some Cheez-Its. I love anything with cheese in it.
Going home, the white car followed me until I got on the main road that links to the side road that goes to our street.
I decided it was an angel.
I already told my dad about those two times. He thought it was an angel too. I guess that everyone has an angel to watch over them in a case where you may become endangered. Not all of them are visible, though.
My advice to you, keep an eye out for white cars that follow you and know that someone is there to protect you.
