Angels Are All Around Us

It's said that the moment we are born into this world, God assigns an angel to us to be with us all through our lives until God calls us home. And then our angel as well as loved ones who have passed on will be waiting for us.

For this I do believe that angels are around us and that our angels are there to protect us as well.

This happened not only once, but many times that my angel has protected me from losing my life.

One incident happened when I was driving from the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg where I'm a student studying for addictions study.

About two years ago, I was driving back home to Santa Maria which is about 33-35 miles from Edinburg. I usually took the same route to get home quicker which took about 30 minutes.

But this one time, I was taking the usual route to get home and take a small nap. As soon as I reached the intersection where I usually turned, my steering wheel suddenly jerked to the left as if there were some invisible hands on the steering wheel.

Well, as soon as this happened, I was put on the fast lane in which I had to go straight through the next city.

I wondered what happened and thought that the steering wheel was locked. But as soon as I was about a hundred yards away from my usual route, the steering wheel was okay.

Well, I continued going straight until I came to another alternative route that would take me straight home, but it would take me an hour to get home as well.

Mom was already home and was waiting for me. When she asked why I took so long to get home, I was about to tell her that I was going to take my car to our mechanic friend to check the steering when I heard on the television news that there was a three car pile up accident on Farm Road 493 at 4:00 that afternoon.

My face went pale and I was shaking like a leaf. My mom asked what was wrong and that's when I told her what happened.

You see at 3:45 that afternoon, I was about to turn right on Farm Road 493 when my steering wheel jerked to the left sharply and put me in the fast lane.

I now live in Edinburg and still continuing to study for my degree. I'm a junior and I only have one more year to go for my degree.

But this doesn't shake off my faith that I have in God and that He gave me an angel who looks over me and is always there during both the good times and the bad times.
