I have read many of the stories posted on this site and found them to be very interesting and now I hope that my story will be interesting to someone. I am not a good story teller so please try not to fall asleep while reading it.

My "encounter" happened on July 14th of this year, I was invited to a friends graduation party and because I am not good with directions decided to leave early to got the party only to get lost a bit, but finally made it there (I live in the Bronx and the party was in Queens, which isn't too far, but Queens isn't an easy place to get around in).

Anyway, I left the party to come home around 10:30, my house is only about half an hour away, but I managed to get home 3 1/2 hours later! Like I said I left to go home and I followed directions carefully, I made it to the main highway okay but ended up going in the wrong direction.

To make a very long story short, I drove for about 20 minutes before realizing I was going the wrong way, I get off the highway and find my way to the correct direction only to get caught in a loop. I kept getting back on to the same highway leading me back to Queens, this went on for about 1 hour, my daughter who was in the car with me was beginning to panic.

I finally took a turn which I thought was correct only to find myself going into Long Island instead, I looked at my gas gauge and guess what I was running out of gas, I had less that a quarter tank left. Then it only got worse it began to down pour. I tried to use my cell phone to call my husband only to have my battery die after just saying "honey, I'm lost", it was the weirdest thing in the world. It seemed that everything that could go wrong did. I was getting so upset, my windshield wipers are really bad and were not doing a good job on the heavy downpour.

I started to ask God for guidance at the point cause I was ready to ball up and cry. Not because I was scared but because I thought I would never get out of Long Island. I could barely see the front of my car from the heavy rain and I asked God out loud to please help me and drive the car for me since I could not see.

All of a sudden out of nowhere a small black car rides behind me with the brightest lights I had ever seen, they were not blinding like the high beams usually are, I could see clearly, it was not blinding my review mirror it was just lighting the way for me. They car was behind me for over 3 miles and finally when the rain died down a bit the car just disappeared, I never saw it change lanes and I did not see it any more around me. I was surrounded by trucks of all things.

But it doesn't end there I was still lost only I pulled over to a Dunkin donuts parking lot to have another "talk" with God and asked him for a sign, don't you know that as I am pulling into the parking lot I looked in my rear view mirror for some reason and there was a sign that said "New York" with an arrow pointing in the direction. I thanked God and make a u-turn into that road and made it back to the toll to get home. It had been raining the whole time, only not as heavy as earlier when I finally made it pass the toll I looked at my gas gauge and guess what I had the same amount of gas, still had less than a quarter tank I had been driving for over 2 hours and lost no gas. The final clicker to the story, when I got up the next morning and went to my car I had a flat in the back right tire. Now tell me my guardian angel wasn't working overtime that night with me.

That is my story I hope someone will find it interesting and thanks for reading it.
