Bangs, Slams, Shadows, and a Ghostly Touch.

I have had several very strange experiences in my life...but this was by far the strangest. This also went on for about 4 yrs. My family and I had just recently moved to a new home. My husband, son, myself, and the family cat. We had only been in the house about 2 weeks when I started to notice something "strange" going on in the house.

I didn't say anything to my husband until one day, when he was about to go out of town, on business for several days.I told him that I didn't feel comfortable in the house, although I couldn't explain why. I didn't really feel afraid, just uneasy...and just sometimes. It wasn't an overwhelming feeling...just unsettling. I told him that I didn't like having to stay there with the baby alone...(my son was 3yrs old at the time) and mind, I'm not frightened by much, or easily for that matter. He told me to stay with my grandparents while he was gone if I was that uncomfortable.

I decided that I would be ok there...and took my son to visit my grandparents for a few days. When I came home from taking him there, going to class, and running the errands for the day, I walked in the door, and got that weird feeling...like a presence. I had been occupied with other things, (so I wasn't predisposed to the idea that something was waiting for me at home)but it was, and I felt it immediately! I stood at the front door for a moment trying to decide what to do, when I heard, and felt a distinct slam of one of the cabinet doors in my bathroom! I know that's what it was, because I later walked all around the house slamming doors, until I found the audible sound that fit. It was quiet the rest of the night.

The next morning I had a class to go to, and decided to ask a friend of mine to come stay the night, as we had an exam the following morning, and I thought we could study together. When I got home that day, I walked in and immediately got that sensation again...I spoke out loud to this unseen, but very there presence. "I know you are here, but please don't terrorize me, my family, or my pets, you are welcome to stay here, and it would be nice if you would protect the house while we're away". My friend came over, and after we had talked, instead of studying until the wee hours of morning, we decided to hit the books for a few minutes...literally. We went to bed about 15 minutes after that. I hadn't told her anything that had been going on, and when I gave her the option as to where she wanted to sleep, she decided she'd be more comfortable in my room with me. After about 5 minutes, the lights all out, cat at my feet (on them to be exact)...something hit the floor at the foot of my bed. It sounded like a glass, but it didn't break. We were too tired, and probably too afraid to bother to look to see what it was. Later, when the alarm went off, that was the first thing I did. I crawled to the end of the bed to see what had fallen...there was nothing there, but a puddle of water on the floor. I looked under the bed thinking maybe the glass rolled somewhere but never found a glass at all. My friend never would come back to my house... at all.(I know this is really long, but it's also very good, so bare with me)

I'll try to just explain in rapid succession some of the other events that took place over time. My son refused to sleep in his room on several occassions...he wouldn't even play in there, until he got a tv for Christmas and left in on every single moment he spent in there alone. My husband and I got into a "heated" playful argument over something we had seen on tv and a bag of potato chips literally flew across the kitchen and hit the back door. On many occassions I would go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and got a feeling someone was standing in the shower...I made it a habit to turn on the light everytime I went in there from that time on (still do). I also had a very scary thing happen one night while sleeping on the hide-a-bed in the living room, my son and I had gone to sleep watching a movie, and I had awakened several hours later for no reason at all. I lay there on my side, in the light of the tv when I felt, what I thought was my husband coming in to the livingroom to have me come to bed. When I turned over to say something to him, there was noone there. I turned back over I could still feel a presence standing over me...all I could do was hold my breath. After what felt like forever...I felt something cold touch my knee...it went right through me...like hot ice touched my knee...but it went through to my other knee, and they both just tingled....after the sensation went away, it did it again! I jumped up, and turned on the light and decided to watch the news. I didn't sleep anymore that night. The last thing I'll mention, is when I actually saw the figure walking down my hall....or rather, a shadow on the wall came down the hall, and went back. I was on the phone, so I was not asleep, and actually was describing the whole event to the person on the other end as it happened. I was home alone, and it was broad day light...

These are just a few of some very odd occurances in that house. We all had experiences, and they vary in severity, none of us were injured, just weirded out to some degree. We lived in that house for 4 1/2 yrs. We were never really afraid, and I got the distinct feeling that whatever it was, was lost, afraid, curious, and female. All of this is absolutely true...and I have many more strange tales that I've witnessed over the years other than these. If you have any questions or would like to know more, you are welcome to e-mail me. Thanks for reading.
