A Unique Experience

The Dream:

When I was a young lad of seventeen (1967), I fell into a deep slumber...so deep that I found myself entering a lighted tunnel leading into an obscured place...a place that I was to learn was heaven. I met people there that I had known and even people that I didn't think I knew but somehow knew. I was being judged for my wrongdoing by a panel of judges when some soul declared, " What are you doing here? You aren't suppose to be here." With that knowledge, I spirited away and awoke from a heavy slumber feeling extremely tired and drowsy.( Note: I never was into drugs) It took me awhile to recover any sense of myself. I related my "weird" dream to my mother and father.

Reversal:

After trying to recover my senses (a good forty minutes or more) I started to watch a t.v. show. Ten minutes into watching the show I felt myself floating above myself, my consciousness in tact and an eerie vision of my lofty surroundings all the while as I watched the show below me...two worlds of senses engaged at the same time. Immediately terror seized me. I wondered if I was dying. All I could do was concentrate fiercely on myself to refuse my death…sheer will. In an instant I was inside my body once more, attached but shaken.

Every out of near death experience that I have read about started with death and ended with the tunnel. But my experience stated with a dream, a tunnel and then an experience with death.

Did I die in my sleep? Perhaps. I was changed from that moment in that I knew that something separate existed from my worldly flesh and mind. Over the years I have learned many truths which have guided me away from the spirit into the truth found in testable knowledge. But I can never shed that experience of that night when I was seventeen.
