One night when I was 17, I went to bed around the usual time (11PM). I had Deftones "Around the Fur" CD playing in my CD player on low volume, something in which I did every night. Six tracks into the CD, my entire body went numb, then switched over to pins and needles. I was completely paralyzed. The room was darker than normal and my vision was kind of blurry. Suddenly, it felt as if something picked me up and threw be back down onto my bed. This happened three times. The fourth time I was "picked up" I stayed up. I couldn't feel a thing. I couldn't walk, I couldn't talk. I somehow managed to get to my dresser (which was directly next to my bed) to try and turn my lamp on. I couldn't turn it on. I could feel it, but not really feel it. It was the weirdest thing. At that point I tried calling out for my mother, but nothing came out. After several failed attempts at trying to "escape" I fell back into my bed and, almost magically, everything was normal. This all lasted less than 4 minutes. My CD I was playing was only halfway through the seventh track. I had never been so scared in my life. This has been happening to me over the past 10 years and it always starts out the same. Big difference is now I'm not completely terrified when it does happen; I just go with the flow.
