Shortly after bringing my horses home to our new farm I looked out in the pasture to see a horse running around being silly. It came up from behind the barn to the fenceline. I looked over to the pasture on the other side of the barn to see my 3 girls grazing. I threw on my shoes and went out to see where this 4th horse had come from. Once at the barn and pasture there was no longer a 4th horse. I only shared this with a couple of people thinking everyone would think I was nuts.

Another night I was letting the 6 horses we have here now in. All were in but one and he was next. I opened the door to let him in when there was a whinny from our 2nd pasture. He stopped and Whinnied back-he heard it too. Thinking there was a loose horse, I got him in and proceeded to check 2nd pasture only to find nothing.

Now this new years weekend I had company for the weekend. My friend was aware of my siteing and was helping me do my stalls. It sounded like a horse in the stall beside us looking for grain in the empty grain bucket and then a snort and a whinny. He quickly went to the door and announced all 6 of your horses are at the round bale. He was excited to have experienced this with me.

We lost our 1st horse 3yrs ago and still grieve over this and found out that a horse had to be put down after an accident here on the farm. I'm not afraid of this horse, I accually feel blessed that he/she feels at home here. I just wish I knew who this ghost horse was-is it our beloved Windy who I trusted my children to or the poor fellow that had the accident with the fence or is it another horse from years gone by? This farm house was built in the late 1800's and I'm sure has seen alot of animals come and go.
