Room with a View

This dream-like occurrence has haunted me for some time now, but I have only had it happen once. It began with me stepping through a door-way (which was like a 'wall of black' it looked like black water, but upright) into a room with beautiful sunlight coming in through the windows - a line of windows (I counted 5 or 6 across to the right from my closet window) each were made up of six panels.

The walls were lime-green and the floor, polished wood. In the the distance I could see the Eiffel Tower - as I walked closer. In the room there was only one chair, and one small table next to a window. I looked around the room and saw no-one else, so I went to the chair that was already turned to face me.

I felt like I was 'home' or at least the place where I lived. I was intrigued by how much I could discern for being merely just a dream, I could touch the glass, feel the sun, smell the fresh summer air

Looking through the windows, out to my distant left, I could see a long line of trees with a pathway along it and people walking and even a bicycle too. I looked down from my window and got a fright when I saw someone walk past, I was scared they might see me (as I didn't know what the result may be) The window had a 'thick' concrete ledge and so I couldn't see much further down.

I wanted to remember all this before I left the room, so I took my time leaving. When I did start to leave, it sadly felt like I wouldn't be back - then I stepped into the 'black' door and woke up.

I have never been to France, and only seen 'close-up' photos of the Eiffel tower before this. This 'dream' happened about 14 years ago, and I just recently Google 'street viewed' the area and found that the only place I could have been was in the École Militaire in Paris.
