This is both an oob and near death story. As a seven year old, I was hospitalized with a burst appendix. I had surgery and subsequently was dosed heavily with hypos. So heavily that my heart stopped. I was above the bed, looking down at my mother and the doctor. I saw the doctor pick me up by the knees and jerk me around. I was like a rag doll. Then he laid me on the bed and he began hitting my chest. By this time, I was up around the window.

Soon, I was out the window in the trees, and this was April in CO, snow was still on the ground but I felt no cold. I saw my Dad walking across the parking lot. It was his usual walk and if you knew my Dad, you would be aware that he was completely recognizable by his walk and he smoked at that time. I knew this was my Dad. Next I saw a bird who seemed to see me. It looked at me and then went backward like it was frightened. I know there is supposed to be some explanation of anoxia for these so called visions. These were not visions, however, I know that because, soon, I heard my mother crying and I went back down to the window and then I saw how upset she was and I went down over the doctor and then to my bed and then woke up and there was my Dad coming into the room and toching my Mom and comforting her.

I always remembered this experience but as a kid, I did not know what to call it or how to explain it. I tried to explain what had happened to my Mom and she told me I was being ridiculous, so I just grew up keeping it to myself. This was in 1947.

Furthermore, this may not be of interest but I saw the doctor and his nurse in surgery making out when I woke up during surgery. The doctor, said, put her out, giver her more. I think this is why he kept giving me too many hypos after surgery to keep me confused and quiet. Only later on, did I have a name for what had happened to me. I have a very good memory and so I have not changed this story in any way.
