Question: Wow! Deborah & Kathy, you finally showed up. I am excited to get this interview started. Please tell me something personal about yourselves, so the readers will get a better idea who you are. Such as hobbies you may have, family life, etc.

Deborah: I am married with 3 kids. I worked as an advanced EMT for an ambulance for 16 years, all across the country from New York to Pennsylvania to Pittsburg, Ohio and all throughout California, I even worked 9/11 incident in Pennsylvania. I love the outdoors, motorcycle riding and ghost hunting. I am Italian and love my family and friends.

Kathy: I am married to a wonderful man named Steve. We have 3 boys ages 18, 15 and 13. I work as a part time bartender and bookkeeper. I do accounting for small businesses. I love to ride motorcycles with my husband and friends. I rode racehorses for 15 years; I guess you could say I am an adrenaline junky. I have been interested in the paranormal since I was a child.

Question: Tell me about your first paranormal experience.

Deborah: I was about 4 yrs old at our house in Palos Verdes. Our house was haunted by a Portuguese Captain who died in the house. We had started some renovations on the house and I had to sleep in the living room while it was being done. One night when I woke up the Captain was standing over me. After that I saw him several more times and it was always at night. I was so scared I started to sleep with my mom. My father saw him also so I didnt feel crazy. Since then I have had numerous paranormal experiences. I also received a call from my grandfather, that I would call Pops. I was talking with him for a while and then handed the phone over to my mother. My mother when receiving the phone, heard nothing but a dead tone. Then the phone rang again and it was my father and he said grandfather just died. That was so strange.

Kathy: My first paranormal experience happened when my dad passed away. My brother and I had just left the hospital to go home and get some rest. I just laid down when the phone rang. My brother and I jumped up at the same time to answer it. It was my mom telling us to come back, he had gotten worse. I got up and was running up the stairs to get dressed and all the lights in the house went out. It was totally black and I was halfway up the stairs and I felt my dad. I knew at that moment he had passed away and he was there with me. It was scary, sad and a very odd experience.

Question: Who got the Lincoln Paranormal Investigators organization started?

Deborah: Kathy and I have always loved and been interested in the paranormal. We had decided that we would put together a trip with our friends to somewhere haunted. I did some research to find somewhere fun and of course we wanted the rooms that were haunted to sleep in. It became a yearly trip and we spent the months researching and finding a great place to go on our next trip. We loved it so much we formed the Lincoln Paranormal Investigators. We are still in our early stages but we are looking forward to growing, learning and doing many more investigations.

Kathy: See above.

Question: What were some of your best investigations?:

Deborah: All of Virginia City. We stayed at the Gold Hill Hotel in the miners cabin. I had come back to the cabin by myself to get something. While I was in there getting what I needed a door to the back room slammed shut. We also investigated the cemetery; several store fronts, The Washoe Club and the old hospital in town. The Washoe Club we had the most activity. Kathy became nauseated in the ball room. We heard a growl and a loud bang, the EMFs went off in full force. My husband, according to a psychic, was being followed by a man named William who had murdered a woman there and did not like him.

Kathy: Our best investigation we had was the Washoe Club. It is a bar in Virginia City that has had numerous paranormal experiences felt by the clients. We had a large group and we were very green (it was our first big investigation). While in the Washoe Club the EMF was as high as it could go. At one point we were in a single file line, I was towards the back, and we were heading to a room that was known for activity. All of a sudden there was a loud growl and a big bang.the few at the front of the line felt a strong wind blow by them. The air was very cold. We felt whatever it was did not want us there. Also at the Washoe club, when we were in the ball room I felt very nauseated and sick to my stomach.

Question: What do you have planned in the future?

Deborah: In the future we are planning on an investigation at the Preston Castle in Ione, then head over to Volcano Ville and return to the Washoe Club.

Kathy: See above.

Question: Why are you interested in the paranormal?

Deborah: I want to know if there is something out there.

Kathy: I love the unknown.I am on a constant quest to answer the questions I have. What happens when we die? Why are some spirits still here and have not crossed over? Is there a between world? I dont know if I will ever get these questions answered, but by investigating the paranormal it reminds me that there is something out there.

Question: You do realize when working with my team, you are part of HPI (Haunted and Paranormal Investigations International). Are you two ready?

Deborah: H@ll Yes! I am excited about being part of the team.

Kathy: I am more than readyI am so excited. It is something I have been interested in my whole life.

Question: While the song was playing Wicked Game by Chris Isaak, you mentioned a case in Chico, can you elaborate?

Kathy: My husband and I lived in Chico in 1993. We were always looking for property to buy dreaming of one day we would live in the country. My husband came home and asked me to go with him to look at some property. I said sure! As we drove up to the property I saw that there was a very old run down white house in front of a huge walnut orchard. We parked the car and all I can say is this awful terrible feeling came over me. I got out of the car and started to follow my husband to this big porch in the front of the house. As I got closer all the hair on my body stood up. I have never had that happen to me before. I came near the porch and in a single moment I had decided I was NOT going into that house. I did not go in. I have driven by that house several times since then and even as I drive by I get that feeling and the hairs on my neck still stand up. I tried to do some research on the house but have yet to find anything.

Question: Now to the fun stuff, since the interview is winding down. If you had 6 dinner guests, 3 fictional and 3 historical, who would they be?

Deborah: Jesse James who I am actually related to, Da Vinci, Anastasia Romanoff, Robert Langdon, I am more into the historical not fictional so I am having a hard time coming up with more fictional.

Kathy: Ghandi would be one for spiritual guidance, President Abe Lincoln for he was so insightful about our future, Anne Frank because she would remind me to be thankful for the life I have, Superman (just to look at and feel safe) tee hee, Calvin w/ Hobbes to bring some laughter and an Alien to get some questions answered about what is out there.

Question: What are your favorite TV shows, movies, books?

Deborah: My favorite TV shows are Charmed, The Mentalist, CSI, Ghost Hunters, Paranormal State, Ghost Adventurers and Monster Quest. My favorite books are Tom Clancy, Dan Brown, The Twilight series and historical books.

Kathy: My favorite TV shows are The Mentalist, Lie to Me, Ghost Hunters, Paranormal State and Ghost Whisper (I would love to be able to have that gift). I love all books from Harry Potter (in which I bought for my kids and found myself reading), to the Twilight series and Danielle Steele. I also read lots of self help books and scary books with Steven King being my favorite.

Question: Deborah..what is the story about 29 Palms?

Deborah: I was driving down the desert roads behind the base and I saw something coming up behind me. It was daytime and I noticed it wasnt touching the ground. It was dark and black. It gained on me and then was airborne and flew up over the back of my car. It scared me to death but as it flew over and went in front of the car I realized it was a Stealth Bomber or maybe the Aurora.

Question: What is your favorite song?

Deborah: I love all kinds of music.

Kathy: Lets Get it On by Marvin Gaye. love that song!!!

Question: Any words of wisdom to your readers?

Deborah: Be a Nike commercial and Just Do It. Kathy: Everything in life happens for a reason - never stop searching, asking and paying attention.

Special Note: Deborah was once a firefighter for Riverside County Fire, Battalion 10 Palm Springs and she worked for Aero Medivac out of San Diego.

One More Special Note: I ended this interview by meeting up with one of my HPI paranormal investigators Chantal Apodaca and we headed over to UA Laguna to see Robert Downey Jr./Jude Law in Sherlock Holmes and Twilight: New Moon. Great movies!
