I had been trying to will myself into having a lucid dream for a couple of months ever since I read a great book on lucid dreaming. I would have to say that this book was probably the BEST available for an overall education on lucid dreams and how to have them. It was by an english gentleman and at this moment I dont remember what it was called.

Anyways, I had experienced a short lived "lucid" period while in a dream some weeks before this where I had thought to myself....."this is definetely a dream, lets see if you really can control things to your will." I was about to throw some object at an adversary who was atop a horse, and I thought to change it into a bar of gold! It actually happened right as I willed it, so I next decided to try to fly.The thing was, that as I had become aware I was dreaming, nothing in the appearance or "feel" of the dream landscape changed......it was a sort of dull, far-away sensation to the whole thing. When I tried to fly I remember a feeling of shooting up off the ground, but almost immediately I woke up and the whole thing vanished! Not very satisfying to say the least! Well now, this next incident was altogether MUCH more intense and I dare say that I was temporarily, EXTREMELY affected by it and honestly felt that I had expereinced something SUPERNATURAL!! You out there reading this please email me if you have had or know of anyone else who has had something similar to what I am about to explain happen. I honestly do not know if I had an OBE or an INTENSE lucid dream....or maybe both!

I was starting to wake up a little and it was between 5 and 6 AM. I would drift back to sleep and enter a dream immediately. First off I was getting out of a parked car in an outdoor parking lot at night and was being chased/followed by someone unfriendly so I had a sense of urgency to escape. As I made the thought that this was a dream, I suddenly felt an instantaneous connection with this dream body/perspective a sudden as a light switch being clicked on. When this happened the environment suddenly became "real" in the sense that it was brighter, more solid looking/feeling, I suddenly could smell, hear, and I could actually feel like I was controlling the actions in real-time, and not the normal detached sense of spectator-like distance that you have in most dreams. I felt like I had "woken up" into this reality and it was a very real sensation.

Anyways, I began to walk out of the parking lot into a street and was basically just walking when the whole scene faded away and I slipped toward being conscious in my bed.The whole thing had lasted maybe 15 seconds at most. Next, I drifted back into unconsciousness and again entered a dream where I was moving (floating?) down streets at night through residential neighbourhoods .Again at some point I realised I was dreaming only THIS time when I thought that, I had a PHYSICAL sensation of lurching out of my body as it lay on my bed and SLAMMING into the "dream form" . Once again I could instantly sense the smells and the sounds and my vision became sharp and bright.

When I think on it now though, I cannot remember a sensation of touch. I was climbing over a wooden fence, then I managed to get onto the roof of a garage in a backyard and I remember thinking "I am controlling everything and I cannot get hurt", so I leaped off the roof onto the lawn and I remember landing and rolling a couple times before I got up and started walking towards the back of this large house. It was night and there was bright moonlight so everything kind of looked surreal. This was when I stopped walking and decided to try the lucid dream powers I had read about. I decided that I wanted to fly like a cruise missile across the lawn and through the glass window that was along the right side of the house at ground-floor level. Instantaneously, I was in a horizontal position, head down so I could see the ground (about 2.5 ft above ground) and I began to stream towards the window! It felt like I was flying at approx. 40 MPH if I had to guess, and when I "hit" the window head first, I did not feel anything, nor did I hear breaking glass. Instead there was a flash of white light that encompassed my entire vision and I was suddenly standing to the immediate right of the back of the same house, facing the same direction that I had just flown. I was basically standing within a line of laundry that was hanging on a clothes-line and my face was about 2 inches away from some piece of clothing hanging before me!! I was very confused and I remember that I began to look left towards the window I thought I would smash through when I was very quickly yanked away back into consciousness and this time as I became aware of my sleeping body I felt my right arm laying in an awkward, uncomfortable position and as I tried to move it I discovered that I could not at first and was having to strain because it seemed like a limb that has fallen totally asleep. Now then.....what exactly could this "adventure" be classified as? ANYONE?
