At a younger age I believed that somehow, I was different from my peers. I had a feeling that I had some kind of knowledge that others did not. Until recently, I never thought too deep into the idea that I had something different than others. Last night was the event that struck me the oddest, most frightening encounter of all. Let me start at the beginning ...

Around the age of ten, my family and I lived in a modest house. We all felt as if something was in our presence and all of us had several accounts of seeing shadows in the corner of our eyes, shadows in mirrors, balls of light, or even moving objects. These were my first encounters with the paranormal. Within these past few months I've experienced odd events ... almost as if someone is always with me.

I have had numerous accounts of a strong voice whispering my name hotly in my ear. I have told my mother of my experiences, she said when she was my age this 'name in her ear' experience would happen to her also.

A few months ago, I was driving my younger sister to her school. Usually I stupidly do not wear a seatbelt, but always make her tighten her own. Today was different..I did not ask her to wear hers out of my own laziness. As I was driving up a rounded hill my steering wheel jerked out of my hand, cranked to the right and would not come unstuck. My sister and I tried pulling the wheel to the left but it would not budge. In this instant of the steering wheel pulling to the right and the result, my car going off the side of the road... a truck came (going at least 20 miles/hour over the speed limit) into our lane. If my steering wheel did not mysteriously pull to the right the oncoming truck would have hit my sister and I. We most likely would have died due to no seat belts.

About a month after the car event, I was coming to the end of my school year. This time was very hectic and within three days I only managed to get a few hours of sleep. The lack of sleep could have possibly contributed to the out of body experience I managed to have on night. As I finally laid my head to sleep after the previous exhausting days, I felt a wave of relief pass over me and an unexpected calm came over my body. I drifted into a very deep sleep and then it started to happen. Without me acknowledging it, I sat up from my sleeping body and started to float to the ceiling. I felt light, as if I had no legs, and it were just my upper body. My ears began to pulse and ring a loud constant pitch, the farther I drifted away from myself the louder the ringing became. I drifted out of my room and into the hallway. I was just about to go up the stairs and then in my unconscious state of mind I realized what was happening. In this instant it was like a smack to the face, the ringing stopped and in a drastic whoosh I was back in my body. I woke up in confusion, not knowing what time, day, what just happened, or where I was.

Last night is the most shocking event so far. Again, I was sleeping...a normal sleep, not a deep one. I share a room with my sister and thought it was her pulling at my leg to wait up. I drowsily told her to leave me along so I could continue to sleep. She still was pulling at my leg so I sat up and looked. In the pitch dark was a face peering at me over fabric wrapped around its' head. It was eerily lit up as if standing next to a open body of water, the glow reflected off her face. I tried to focus my eyes and to my astonishment the face drifted into the darkness and disapeared. I yelled at my sister trying to fool myself that was I just saw was really my sister. I jumped out of bed and flipped the light switch on. My sister was laying in bed, snoring. I shook her saying, "this isn't funny!" And "I know your trying to mess with my head." She woke up confused and I knew she didn't pull my leg and jump into bed. I would have heard her, our beds are loud when you gently sit on them, let alone run and jump back into bed, covered in a blanket... with out a single squeak. My sister told me to brush it off and go back to bed.. which I did after a few minutes of freaking out. After I went back to bed and fell asleep once again, I felt the tugging and pulling at my leg. I didn't see the face this time. I jumped out of bed quicker than the last time and switched the light on. Once again my sister was sound asleep.

Are these events a ghost, someone trying to warn me, someone I know? Are these signs of some future event happening? Can anyone shed some light?
