The Light

It happened almost 55 years ago. I was 8 or 9 and had become ill the night before. My mom had called a doctor and was treated at home. I don't remember the following day but towards evening I become aware of my mother wiping my forehead with a wash cloth. I watched her and my body from above. I could see people on our porch being concerned about me. Over my shoulder was a bright light about where the ceiling meets the wall and I was drawn to the light and faceless people were standing looking towards me as I entered the light. I felt welcomed but worried about my mom and looked back towards her and moved towards her looking at my body. I then looked up at my mom as I was now in my body. Soon I asked about the people outside but she said there isn't anyone there. There had been the night before. She said I had a really high fever and was really concerned. I never told anyone about that experience until years later but it has always been fresh in my mind.
