Ghost Goatman or Demon?

I found your website which is great and I would like to share a frightening experience I had related to a strange entity. Sorry for my poor english.

It happened from May to August 2007 in a cottage I rent from a widow in the countyside near Tomar, Portugal. I used it for spending my weekends away from the rush with relatives and friends. It's a 100 yrs. old one-story, four-bedroom place with a recent living room with fireplace and a kitchen and two bathrooms. Almost completely furnished. I found the price a bargain.The place is far from the next house, and the rural area around is very calm and quiet. We only can hear the birds and the breeze shaking the trees. A very secondary road is nearby but its possible to wait for the next car to came over for 30 minutes or so.

Since the first day I entered the house I became aware of something out of normal. I sensed chills on my spine and the feeling of being watched! The first night I heard strange noises from the wooded ceilings and "something" invisible began to manifest - usually scratching and making knocks on the walls. Also, I felt something which cannot be seen start to make pression over the covers on my legs! I shouted “Go away!” because I began to realize this was an haunted house.

The oldest side of the house where the bedrooms were was the worst and also the garage.The following weekends the same occurred. I began to be concerned and upset.I talked with the owner – a lady in its 70´s and asked if she knew something weird had ocurred in their house that she had notice. She told me THEN in lower voice her husband had hang himself in the garage a few years before. Then she decided not to live alone in the house and she move to her daughter´s house in town.Her husband suffered from depression and even that, this was an unexpected tragedy as occurred when she was attended mass in the next village and had found the body when coming back. At my advice, she met a psychic women she knew and, allegably, succeeded making contact with the deceased who assured her he wasn't responsible for the events at the house as he was finally well and apologized for having caused such suffering.

Well, the weeks went by but no noticeable changes except on me – I grasped the ideia that now everything would be okay. I still had this overwhelming feeling of being not alone and feeling in discomfort . A random weekend I invited a friend of mine to rest with me as I did not want to be alone in that house. Sunday morning my friend told me he would come out to take some photos from the property and the landscape with his phone-cell camera. Soon he came to me with a strange look and said he took a picture of a what seemed to be a "goat" that wasn't there before. Weird! When I looked to the display, I froze half to death! We could clearly see a "goatman" sitting on the fence, legs crossing and looking to the man who took the picture! We could clearly see his features and we had a ironic smile on his face! He had fur and was dressed in what seemed a dark-yellow scarf. His body was blurry and brown except the low middle, which was dark blue or gray but with distinctive human traces like arms and hands. My God, he/it had horns and houves and the whole aspect like we use to see in medieval representations of a demon! We could not look at the picture without the most strong feeling of a most devilish and malevolent thing. I thought maybe the people from older times at end had reason to show on books what they had seen – the same I saw with my very eyes. Of course nothing was there we could see with our naked eyes when we looked out before or after!

Now, I asked my friend to keep the photo and send it to my e-mail or my cell-phone. He was supposed to do that and later he erased it by accident- or he guess it was by accident. So, I couldn´t get the photo anyway. Maybe "something" was not interested the people be aware of what could be a material proof of the existence of such creatures.

Anyway, after what happened I couldn´t spend my weekends in that creepy house. Later, I also discovered that, in a ruined farm, about 300 m away, some guy had comitted suicide years ago. Maybe the suicide in that house and mine and the apparition are connected – who knows? I leave. I think many times if there are somebody who have had experienced something like that.
