Burnt Footstep

I moved into my house 2 years ago and about 5 months after I moved in, I was sleeping one night when I woke up to the smell of smoke, I panicked and ran downstairs to check and nothing was burnt. I went back to my room when something on the floor caught my eye. It was a footprint facing out towards the room but right near the wall as if someone had stepped out of the wall. But the thing is it was dark (I have polished floorboards) it looked like it had been burnt so had a smell and it was, it actually smelt like it had been burnt at one point.

I did some research on the history of the house a few days later and it turns out that about 50 years ago there was another house in the same spot that had burnt down!

Ever since then I hear tapping noises and the closet in my room opens from the inside every night. I once sat in there with the door closed to see if anythign would happened and the instant I closed the door I felt dizzy and had the feeling that someone was about to jump out at me, so I got out of there.

I still live in the house but I am pretty creeped out at night so I think I might move out soon anyway.
