Approximately 8 years ago we had family visiting Ireland from U.S.A

They stayed for 3 weeks in Derry which is approx 150 miles from Dublin. Then came the time for them to head back to U.S.A. as there was about 12 people returning to the States we needed 3 cars to return them to Dublin airport for their return journey home. As their flight was leaving Dublin that morning at 9.oclock we had to be on the road to Dublin from about 3.30 a.m.

We were about 20 miles from Dublin, everything seemed to be on schedule , i was drving the middle car on our 3 car convoy when i must have suddenly closed my eyes and off to sleep, almost instantly i was awakened by the sound of a loud thud on the windscreen and the sight of a bird caught in my screen wipers, i just had time to slow my car down and regain control and pull in at the side of the road.

The third car in or group immediately pulled up behind me, the driver approached me saying that he thought we were all goners as my car was travelling diagonally the road towards a clump of trees. Had it not been for that bird (guardian angel) we would have been at the very least seriously injured as i was driving about 60 m.p.h Incidentally the 4 passengers in my car were dozing also.

In all the years i had been driving and all the years since i dont think i've had a bird fly across my windscreen let alone become entangled in my wipers, might i just add this happened about 5.00 am when you wouldnt expect birds to be flying around.

This is a full and honest account of an incident which happened to me and i believe my guardian angel was there that night.
