Ghost in the Water

A long time ago, when I was about eight or nine, My parents, little sister and brother went on a picnic near a lake in the nepean area. It was a great place to hang out, and I'd love wandering around and exploring in the crowds of trees and at the edge of the lake. One day, when we were there, I found a new spot at the edge of the lake that was quite polluted and cut off from the rest of the lake by some plants and grass. There was no way to get near it because most of the shore had collapsed into the little swamp area so it was too high up, but I did find a way to climb around and get down there (I always loved climbing and thinking I was in a jungle). When I did get down there, I saw something moving around in the water, pale white, and tried to get closer. It was only when I was close enough that I saw it was actually the top of a person's head/face. Their hair and eyes were pure black and the skin was a blueish white, like they'd been there a long time.

Being only a kid, I almost screamed and ran, trying to make my dad and mum come and see what I'd seen. When dad reluctantly finally came, I brought him to the same place, but it was almost like there was nothing there. I looked and looked but couldn't see the person again.

That day has haunted my for a long time, but I finally managed to forget about it until the other night, when I saw the episode of Supernatural; Dead in the Water. You can guess just how much that freaked me out. The weird part is, I've never seen it again since that first time, not that I've ever wanted to look.
