I'd like to begin by saying that I am a very skeptical person. I'm not religious at all, I don't believe in angels, demons, a god, a devil, a heaven, a hell and so on. But there are some things in this world that cannot be explained and I've encountered many people who always seem to have some sort of ghost story to tell. Carl Sagan is my hero, but there are things in this world that people even as smart as him can't define or categorize. That said, this is a story about the place I work.

I work at a private event center/banquet hall in Denver, CO. I've worked at this building for quite a long time and even when I started, most the adults working there at the time told me how creepy it was. And it is creepy (especially when you have to go upstairs at night and turn off the lights). The building (I'm guessing) is probably about 50 years old, and has been the home to numerous businesses including a night club and a restaurant.

It seems like over the last two years though, things have really been getting weird. The most common occurence is the turning on of water faucets. In fact, that's how I found this website (by searching -poltergeist faucet-). This has probably happened at least a dozen times with many witnesses. There will be absolutely nobody in the kitchen and the faucets will turn on full blast and have to be turned off by a human.

Other freakish occurences include a whisk and spoon flying off their hanging rack and landing on the stainless steel counter (me and another co-worker witnessed this). Our maintenance guy, when locking up one day (all by himself in the building) heard someone whistling right behind him. Toilets have also been known to flush by themselves and various other small things. I don't really feel threatened by this presence, but it's definitely enough to spook the hell out of me. And that's my story.
