My First Paranormal Experience

I've had so many paranormal experiences in my life that I think I've forgotten most of them, the only ones I seem to remember anymore are the most frightening ones. I do, however, recall my first one.
I was only three or four years old, I remember people said our house was a mansion and had twenty-odd bedrooms. Soon after we moved in my sisters would tell me stories of how their bedroom door would open by itself at night, being so young I didn't know what to make of it. The first time I noticed anything was when I sat at the dining room table with my parents and brothers and sisters and the table started to bounce up and down on its own. I recall my father pressing it down to the floor and telling us it was nothing and then behind him his chair began to spin round in circles. All the children started to freak out but my mother just picked up the chair and took it outside, they carried on like nothing happened.
The next time it happened was on a saturday morning, we were all watching the Smurfs on television in the lounge with our mother when we could hear a loud rumbling noise coming from somewhere, one of asked our mother what the sound was and she said it was nothing. Suddenly the curtains (the long and really heavy kind)flew up to the ceiling and began to shake with a loud growling sound. I recall looking back, seeing that the windows were closed and screaming like the rest of my brothers and sisters. My mother snapped her fingers and told us to stop screaming and watch the television. I remember her saying in a calming voice, "Just completely ignore it children." We all did just that. The next day at school my elder brother told a bunch of kids there were ghosts in our house and several children came round after school to check it out. My mother told them it was just a big joke and there were no ghosts.
The last time I noticed anything was one night in my bedroom, I was sharing the room with my brother who was almost two years old at the time, I remember that my parents were trying to ween him from his baby bottle. I recall the window shaking and then the closet door opening on its own. The lights were out but the hallway light was still on and I could make out a dark shadow moving out of the closet and toward the window. I called for my mother and I could hear her get up, walk up the stairs and toward the room. My little brother began to scream as the shadow appeared to be opening the window, I faintly recall it looking like a person in a robe with a hood on it. We screamed louder and our mother came stomping into the room very upset, she spoke with a rather stern and authoritative voice and said, "Can't you see these are children? They have school in the morning, you should be ashamed of yourself!" She shut the window and told us to go back to sleep. As she left the room I could hear her complaining to my father and demanding that he put a stop to this.
I never noticed anything like that again, nearly twenty years later I asked my mother if she could remember what happened. My mother thought it was strange that I could still remember it and told me what happened next. Apparently she asked all the local priests to clean the house of the ghosts but none of them wanted to do it, she offered money, over a thousand dollars but no one would do it. Finally my father asked a priest overseas who he knew when he was a boy if he could be of assistance and flew him over to Canada. I remember when I met him all those years ago, he gave me a pack of fancy markers and gave my sister a Peanuts book and tape set. My mother told me she sent all of us swimming with our father and then the priest just went from room to room with holy water and blessed each of the rooms. After that the ghosts neither troubled us again.
